Our Story
Mitch Bricks began as a heartfelt initiative founded by Mitch Villavaso in 2017. Inspired by his experiences volunteering in homeless shelters around Baltimore, Mitch noticed that children had very few entertainment options. Wanting to make a difference, he brought his passion for LEGO® building to these shelters—playing, creating, and sharing joy with kids who often felt overlooked.
What started as a simple act of kindness grew into a mission: to bring fun, new experiences, and friendships to children and families in need while upholding dignity and respect for every individual. Over the years, Mitch Bricks has expanded its programs to include engaging events for family shelters and aftercare facilities, fostering creativity and connection in communities that need it most.
Today, Mitch is pursuing his dream of becoming a civil engineer at the University of South Carolina, while continuing to grow Mitch Bricks. His vision has expanded beyond Baltimore, reaching Columbia and Charleston, where new partnerships and volunteer opportunities are helping us make an even greater impact.
At Mitch Bricks, we believe that we can all help each other. In addition to creating joyful experiences, we connect families to essential resources and support networks—because every person deserves dignity, opportunity, and hope.
Mitch Bricks is more than play—it’s about building love, community, and a future where everyone can thrive.
